Commuting colour

I just wanted to shout out that Boeoes Kaelstigen has a sequel to Pan European out with a very nice video.

New module: Experience technology

Today we had our first introduction to our new module "Experience technology" with Petter Wärnsberg. It was a pretty thorough introduction and it looks like we're going to have about two month's work ahead of us, but one month to actually do it. It looks like I'm going to have four hectic, but interesting, weeks ahead of me. The module's aim is to get us to dive into the tech bit, which is something that I personally haven't really touched on that much in the past. I've done my share of small javascripts and RealBasic programming in my youth, but nothing beyond that. PHP for example, would be something neat to try out. Action Script and Ajax-stuff as well.

Kamu

This is a pretty neat idea. Anyone can design, print and fold their own Kamu.

I am Kamu

Idea factory

Today has been about ideas. Tomorrow will be as well. To our help we have Linn Bay and Rolf-Arne Leer from the Danish company 370°. Maybe it's because it's Monday, but it feels like it's been a really long day. The concept of brainstorming and talking about idea generation feels a bit off to me. They are nice words and all, but I'm having trouble putting them to practice. I guess I'm a bit skeptic to mind maps and the likes.

Presentation technique

We've had Johan Westermark in presentation technique and body language this week. It's been good. We've done some theater style acting exercises following the mantra "farting on stage".

Just thought I'd post this link from Smash Magazine: Tribute To Graffiti: 50 Beautiful Graffiti Artworks

Module evaluation

Today we had the transition day between Information society and the next module, Experience technology. Basically we sat for a few hours and discussed what worked well and what could be improved; first in a smaller group and then with the whole class. Being Hyper, I'm used to it. Then we took some photos for the website and cleaned out our cells.

Posten Norge

This is the old and new logo of the Norwegian post office. For me, it's a shame. It's a shame to go from the traditional horn symbolism, and the new replacement in turn does absolutely nothing for me. It doesn't show anything about the organization. It doesn't show what the organization does. Another one bites the dust.

Motion showcase

Right now we're looking at everyone's individual motion projects in "Ångan". It's awesome to see what everyone else has done and the difference in individual styles.

Woolies

On a side-note, Woolworth's just got a rebranding which I must say I like quite a bit! Their old logo felt just that; old. The new one is way more cleaner and forward, while still delivering a fresh feeling.

Motion, motion, motion

Our group project in motion is going well, much thanks to Linus and Kalle. I feel a bit inadequate with After Effects, I must admit. I'll have to try and spend some time with it this weekend or something to catch up, because it looks like it could be a lot of fun. I just haven't gotten a grip around it at all, that's it.

Motion week

Motion week started yesterday. With a bang. We have a group assignment that is due tomorrow morning which is a group effort. I think it will turn out pretty good. We also have to write up the written report and hand in.

So far, I like it. Hyper, that is. It's pretty fast-paced but if you compare it to the 8-5 job I had before, it's more dynamic. It changes. One thing, though, that me and my class mates aren't that happy about is the hefty invoice we got from the school. 4600 Swedish crowns for UGL, Team building (one night at a ranch sort of) and another fee ("kompendieavgift") that I can't understand what it means.

Friday, oh Friday

I'm typing this on my new, beautiful, shining, crisp, happy MacBook! I love it. My god I love it. The only problem I had with it was that the iSight camera refused to work, but after a fifteen minute call to Apple the problem was solved.

The presentations yesterday went... fabulous. Absolutely great. I got a lot of great feedback which was really nice since I had practiced several hours. I wasn't that nervous when we were presenting, it was more butterflies before we actually went up. And when it was my time to shine everything just went so smoothly. Good stuff!

We did get some negative feedback as well; only the slight problem of our presentation not really having much to do with our main focus which was Transports & Communication. Ooops. We kinda saw that one coming, though.

So now me and Linus have to rewrite some stuff and add more focus towards our industry and then hand in the written report this Wednesday.

Getting the pieces together

I think it's looking quite good actually. I'm more or less done with my part of the writing, so today we're going to merge all of our findings into one kick ass presentation. The presentation is done in Apple's Keynote and we're going to do some practice run in the "Steam central" to make sure everything runs smooth tomorrow.

New week, deadline approaching

That would be a cool title for a movie. Or not. Anyway, it's Monday again and today we've had a lecture by Magnus Forsbrand regarding the mobile industry. We have also been working with the group process follow-up document which is due tomorrow. Also tried making some calls but no answer.
